ARTAUD Antonin.
FOR READING. AUTOGRAPH POEM SIGNED. Sunday August 25, 1935. 3 pages in-4 in blue ink on mauve vellum. Superb poem celebrating Lise Deharme, of an astonishing, rather classical style, contrasting with the violence of her texts of that time. In a posture close to the troubadour, he celebrates "his lady" in a lyrical and peaceful way: "I want to make your immense white ring shine/which makes your hand a sleeping water/a gaze finally captive/and which gives itself at last/like a marine soul offered to the first fire/a sun numb in the polar ice/finally to better mark in these days of anger/the appeasement that comes from your clandestine lashes, I want to make the morning dew fall/in this amethyst hole where whispers endlessly/a poet intoxicated by his lunar soul...» Two years later, Artaud cast a spell on Lise Deharme in a style of rare violence. This poem, unpublished during Antonin Artaud's lifetime, was kept by Lise Deharme, who will communicate it for the publication of Volume I of the Complete Works. ANTONIN ARTAUD'S AUTOGRAPHICAL POEMS ARE A GREAT RARE, especially from this period [1935], Artaud having stopped writing poems since 1927.
