BRETON André (1896-1966).
Autograph letter signed to his publisher, Paris [42 rue Fontaine, Paris IXe], January 28, 1937. 1 p. folio. Breton refers to his work L'Amour fou, published in 1937, the third part of his surrealist trilogy after "Nadja" and "Vases communicants". He asks "(me again). Would you be so kind as to have the copy printed on Japan, not, as I asked, in the name of my wife, but thus: COPY OF THE ONDINE. It would be less bourgeois, more elegant (...) I would like twenty copies on pink vellum with a very nice effect, (...) the band of the book must only contain one word, to be written in the largest possible font: TOUJOURS. Finally, it would be of great help to me (...) that this book appears as soon as possible (...)".
