Autograph letter signed "Marie princesse de Grèce" Paris, May 10, 1930. 2 pp. in-folio. Engraved letterhead with her address "Rue Adolphe-Yvon Paris (XVIe)". Letter written 4 days before her second operation (May 14, 1930 at the American Hospital in Neuilly) "(...) Unfortunately, I will not be able to come today to attend the screening of the film because I feel a little tired. I have decided to have an operation by Halban without delay. I absolutely insist on the vaginal route and the removal of the cervix, which is the technique regularly practiced by him, and I have asked him to come to Paris as soon as possible to operate on me, probably at the American Hospital (...)". Josef von Halban (1870-1937) Viennese biologist and surgeon who performed surgical interventions to cure his patients of their lack of orgasmic pleasure. Marie Bonaparte became an enthusiastic propagandist of this method. In 1934, she published under the pseudonym "A. E. Narjani" an article on frigidity and maintains that it is an anatomical problem.
