Orson Welles. Paris, Éditions Chavane, Collection Le Cinéma en Marche n° 2, 1950, in-12, paperback, 64 p., cover illustrated with a photograph of Orson Welles. Blue-gray cloth box, inside mottled paper (S. Korcarz-Quentin). First edition. Portrait of Orson Welles in frontispiece, drawn by Jean Cocteau. Study on the filmmaker by Jean Cocteau and André Bazin, accompanied by 16 pages of black and white photographs. Personal copy of André Bazin which served him for the recasting of his text. It will be published after his death at the Cerf editions (1986). Autograph erasures, corrections and additions in the hand of André Bazin. Very fair condition, spine almost absent, but very precious relic preserved as such, under cover. Editor of L'Écran français, Esprit, Le Parisien libéré, Radio-Cinéma-Télévision, La Revue du cinéma and L'Observateur, Bazin strongly influenced the filmmakers of the Nouvelle Vague, starting with those he had gathered around him at Cahiers du cinéma and who were just beginning to shoot their first films at the time Bazin passed away after a ten-year illness.
