Les Métamorphoses, ou L'Asne d'or. Paris, Nicolas & Jean de La Coste, 1648. 2 parts in one volume in-8, green morocco, triple fillet gilt, smooth spine decorated, red title page, inner scroll, gilt edges (18th century binding). A title-frontispiece and 16 beautiful figures engraved on copper by Briot after Crispin de Passe, all included in the pagination. The second part, in separate pagination and with a particular title, contains the Commentaries. An 18th century morocco copy from the library of Frederick Perkins, Chipstead Place, Kent (engraved bookplate). Lower staining to several quires. Some foxing, last table leaf torn (restored) with loss of text. The engraving on p. 302 is formerly smudged.
