2 autograph letters signed. The first one addressed to Mr. "G. Dubois" Paris, January 2, 1935. 1 p. in-8. Envelope and paper on the letterhead of the Mercure de France. The second to "Dear Sir" (s.l.) September 10, 1947. 1 p. in-8. In his letter of January 2, he evokes the love he has for animals "I don't have a cat to place. When a life has entered my home, there is no way to separate myself from it. Some time ago, I met a stray guenon, captured by the police, sent to the pound, which I removed because she had spent a few days in my garden while wandering. I can't keep her. I have to give her to the Zoo of Vincennes. I'm only going backwards (...)"; on September 10 he announces "I went yesterday to the Gallimard publishing house, with your card. Vacations, paid leave, leisure, laziness (...) which reigns in all circles, pocketing as much money as possible by working as little as possible, disorder, sedition of this or that corporation, rivalry of the parties, lunches on the belly in front of their electors of whom they are the servants, in a word the pitiful moral and social state into which France has fallen (...)".
