Le Bon angevin ou l'Hommage du Coeur, a comedy in one act, mixed with Songs & Vaudevilles, & followed by an entertainment. Composed in honour of Monsieur, Brother of the King, Duke of Anjou. Performed for the first time on the Theatre of Angers, on the 19th of June 1775, the day of the Inauguration of the Portrait of Monsieur. Angers, C. Billault, Printer of Monsieur & de la Ville, 1775. In-8, marbled basane, smooth spine decorated, red edges (Binding of the time). First edition, printed at the expense of the city of Angers. Actor and playwright, Collot d'Herbois (1750-1796) became a deputy and then president of the Convention, and contributed to the fall of Robespierre. The copy bears the bookplate of Guillaume Bodinier (1795-1872), a little-known painter from Angers who was the subject of a retrospective exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Angers in 2011.
