First edition of the first Italian work of medical statistics: Non è meraviglia che a mezzo il secolo diciottesimo il Molineri fra noi sia stato il primo a pubblicar tavole di nascite, di malattie, di morti, ma gliene torna gran lode (Prospero Balbo, in Memorie della Reale Accademia delle Scienze di Torino, t. XXXIV, 1830, p. 87). Born in Turin, the physician and philosopher Cesare Molineri establishes here the first tables of births and deaths with the associated pathologies, listed by him in the hospital of Turin from 1749 to 1755. This work is also one of the first printed in Lugano, Switzerland, where printing was only introduced in the middle of the 18th century (Deschamps, col. 764) Some foxing.
