MANUSCRIT. - Precum Delectos in hoc libello curâ Caesaris de Cadenet. Domini de Charleval conditus. S.l. [Lambesc ?], 1754. Manuscript in-8 (160 x 105 mm), brown and red ink on paper, one title leaf and 269 pages (the last four containing an index), red morocco basane, double gilt fillet, gilt coat of arms in the centre, spine decorated, gilt edges on marbling (Binding of the time). Devotional manuscript written in the 18th century by a nobleman called Castillon, from Lambesc in the Bouches-du-Rhône, for his friend Pierre César de Cadenet (1708-1763), lord of Charleval in the Luberon, near Aix-en-Provence. Around 1740-1741, this Provençal personality had offered, through emphyteutic leases, part of his land to some sixty farming families of the region, in particular of La Roque d'Anthéron, to build the village of Charleval. Copy with the arms of Pierre César de Cadenet (cf. OHR, pl. 2425). Slight foxing. Binding rubbed and re-stained in places.
