New edition, the first under this title, of this collection of bachic parodies, the majority of which are based on arias and symphonies from operas by Jean-Baptiste Lully: "two thirds comprise more than one hundred and sixty parodied Airs, all of which are from the composition of the greatest man that France has possessed for Music. The other third contains a suite of Vaudevilles, or table rounds, which no one had ever bothered to collect. Among the parodies contained in this collection, let us quote: Admirons le jus de la treille, Boire à la capucine, Caressons avec le verre ces bouteilles, Faux ratafia boisson mortelle, etc. Adorned with 3 copper-engraved frontispieces. Small missing pieces at the tail of volumes II and III.
