Purple Botryoidal chalcedony Sulawesi H.... - Lot 123 - Giquello
Purple Botryoidal chalcedony Sulawesi H. 12 19/32 in - W: 12 7/32 in - P. 8 11/06 in This strange purple stone looking like grape, is a Chalcedony from Sulawesi islands. Its shape is called Botryoidal and they are floaters rock: not attached to a matrix, but found in a blue/green clay, up in the hills under the Sulawesi forrest. This mix of color and perfect round shape is unique! formed by the decay of components of the original lava of a Miocene period volcano, 20 million years ago. This piece is very large for this type of Botryoidal Chalcedony.
