Paris, Delloye, 1838. 2 volumes in-4, black half-chagrin with corners, spine decorated (period binding). A most interesting and much sought-after collection, illustrated with more than 200 plates, some of them coloured, reproducing old and curious caricatures. The first volume is almost entirely devoted to the Revolution and the Empire. Explanatory notes by Nodier, Jaime, Janin, Chasles, Gozlan, etc. From the library of Etienne Cluzel (bookplate). Interchange between the tables of the first and second volumes, some foxing. Small rubs to the binding.
