BARTHÉLEMY (Jean-Jacques). Voyage of the young Anacharsis in Greece. New edition. Paris, Étienne Ledoux, 1824-1825 [ibid., 1822, for the atlas]. 7 volumes in-8 and one atlas in-4 oblong, purple calf, framed with multiple gilt fillets and a cold roulette, spine decorated, inner roulette, gilt edges (Simier R. du Roi). Portrait of the author and 6 figures placed in the frontispiece. The atlas contains 39 engraved plates (maps, plans, medals, etc.). A BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION, COMPOSITE, THE TEXT VOLUMES IN A VERY ELEGANT SIMIER BINDING. The atlas, dated 1822, belongs to an earlier edition: it is bound in contemporary glazed fawn calf, the boards decorated with a cold lace and a central cartouche in Restoration style. Some light foxing. The spine and the spinebands of the text volumes, sunned, have taken a blond tint. First cover of the atlas a little discoloured, one corner restored, the upper hinge split lengthwise but the cover still held.
