PAGNOL (Marcel).
Catulle. Marseille, Éditions de Fortunio, 1922. In-8, bradel plum half-chagrin with corners, smooth spine with gilt title, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (P. Goy & C. Vilaine). First edition of Pagnol's first dramatic work. Signed letter from the author to Madame Segond-Weber, to the illustrious tragedienne, as a token of my respectful admiration, dated April 29th, 1923. Caroline-Eugénie Segond-Weber (1867-1945) shone on the stages of Comédie-Française, Odéon, Châtelet and theatres in the South of France. Appointed a member of the Comédie-Française in 1902, she played almost all the great heroines, from ancient tragedies to modern tragedies, including the repertoire of Racine and Corneille and the historical dramas of the Romantic period.
