La Paix chez soi - Comedy in 1 act. Autograph manuscript signed, (s.l.n.d. [1903]). 62 folio pages. The manuscript is preceded by a dedication by the author after the manuscript "Manuscript only, entirely in my hand - G. Courteline 8bre 1920". This set is presented in an elegant binding in dark green and midnight blue mosaic morocco, smooth spine, boards decorated with diamond-shaped motifs enhanced by small gilt crosses, double gilt fillet on the boards, five gilt fillet frames on the counterpads lined with green cloth, case (spine a little unstained) (René Kieffer). Complete autograph manuscript of this famous one-act comedy, which was first performed at the Théâtre Antoine on November 25, 1903, and then revived by the Comédie Française in July 1906. Provenance : former collection of Willy Michel, bibliophile and photographer, known for being the first to have installed photomatons in Paris The manuscript and the author's mailing are preceded by his bookplate bearing two mentions: the first in the hand of W. Michel, in pencil "for my New Year's Day 1952 W. Michelle". The second "drawn and engraved by Paul Valéry in 1942" on the mirror page is pasted a photograph of Courteline as a young man with the mention "A photo of Courteline as a young man offered to Willy Michel by Sacha Guitry in 1942".
