SAND (George)
- Les chevaliers du soleil - play in 3 acts. Autograph manuscript, (s.l.n.d. [1857]), 56 pages in-4 preserved in a white folder marked "G.S. pièces qui ont servi"; the whole is presented in a midnight blue cloth case, long spine, blue morocco title-piece, gilt author and title. Very interesting manuscript entirely in George Sand's hand, giving the text of the play and the didascalies. It presents numerous corrections and even pages glued in place of a primitive text. The first page contains the cast of the play. We note the names of Maurice Sand (her son) and Manceau (her secretary). Les Chevaliers du Soleil is a play in three acts, inspired by Alexandre Dumas' novel Les Compagnons de Jehu, published in 1857. The play, which does not seem to have gone beyond the stage of Nohant, is not quoted by André Maurois in his Lélia ou La Vie de George Sand.
