ROUSSEAU (Jean-Jacques) et BERQUIN.
Pygmalion, lyrical scene. Paris, 1775. Large in-8, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, spine decorated, inner lace, gilt edges (Chambolle-Duru). Very nice edition entirely engraved, illustrated with a title executed by Ponce after Marillier and 6 charming vignettes by Moreau le jeune interpreted by Delaunay and Ponce. Copy to which has been added the rare suite of 6 beautiful figures by Eisen engraved by De Ghendt, and 4 other figures, one of which is after Eisen and two large ones engraved by Le Mire after Moreau le jeune and Renaud, that is to say 10 plates in all. A very fine copy in a fine binding by Chambolle-Duru. Small clear ring at the corner of two leaves.
