Bibliography : - La Sculpture des Lega : Galerie Hélène et Philippe Leloup, Paris, 14 June - 30 July 1994, American Anthropological Association. This Lega idimu mask is both strongly sculptural, accentuated by the adze work on both the face and the reverse, and very "alive" by the asymmetries of the wide-open eyes, the aquiline nose and the rectangular mouth whose thick lips show teeth. To these characteristics are added on the surface, made of hardwood and patinated, red and white pigments animating the heart-shaped face. Ɵ This lot is in temporary importation
