Boundaries in old collar. Four cards covered, connected and folded. Strongly yellowed paper. Each map measures about 470 x 630 mm at the framing net. Four maps showing the 4 continents by Abbé Clouet. Map of Asia featuring the Sea of Korea. Map of the western hemisphere with all the major early explorer routes. With an inset map that indicates a Northwest Passage based on the supposed voyage of the apocryphal Admiral de Fonte. With a large "Mer de l'Ouest".                           Jean Baptiste Louis Clouet (born 1730) was a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Rouen and the author of "Géogaphie Moderne (1767)".
