CROUCHING CHARACTER CALLED XANTIL Mixed Culture, Teotitlan del Camino, Oaxaca, Mexico Post-Classical, 1300-1500 AD. H. 42 cm - W. 23 cm Brown ceramic with traces of turquoise-blue and red paints Crouching figure, perhaps the stopper of a burial censer at the Cylindrical body, legs and arms fixed at the sides. Face strange where the lips suggest the snub-nosed goddess Xochipilli. Sophisticated hairstyle with the presence of two braids on the sides and a central medallion with turquoise pastille.
