Collation : ?1 ?2 e4 A-Z4 2A-Z4 3A-B4 Illustration: title frontispiece engraved by Sébastien Leclerc, 20 engraved figures printed in the text and 3 large engraved bands printed at the beginning of each book, due to Leclerc . Bound around 1700 by Anguerrand. Midnight blue morocco, triple gilt fillet in frame, long spine with red morocco title piece, such as the translator's name and date at the back, gilt edges Small restored lack in the lower margin of the title not touching the engraving, hinges slightly worn Sir Paul Rycaud (1628-1700), English merchant and diplomat, spent more than twenty years in Turkey. He published in 1667 in London in folio format the account of his long journey. Translated into all languages, it became one of the most reliable sources for the knowledge of the Ottoman Empire.
