French Constitution presented to the King on September 3, 1791 and accepted by His Majesty on the 14th of the same month Paris, De l'Imprimerie nationale, 1791 Beautiful and rare copy printed on vellum paper by the national printing house, i.e. before all the other in-12 format prints of the first French constitution. With the signature of Louis XVI engraved at the end of the text, for acceptance Original edition in in-12 format of the first French constitution In-12 (138 x 90mm). Vignette engraved with the emblem of the National Assembly on the title page. Collation and contents: Engraved title, (ii-iv) Table of chapters, 2-115: Constitution beginning with the Declaration of Human Rights and ending on: (1) the engraving of the signatures of the members of the delegation responsible for presenting the Constitution to the King, (2) the engraved signature for acceptance by Louis XVI, (3) the engraved certification of a true copy signed by Camus and (4) the finished print also engraved of 30 September 1791, pp. 120-179: Table of objects contained in the French constitutional act Binding of the period. Red morocco, gilt decoration, triple fillet in the frame with rosette and fleurette at the corners, very ornate and gilt long spine, gilt edges.
