Red morocco, gilt decoration, coat of arms in the centre of the covers, spine ribbed with the monogram conjugated with first names ("IAM"), gilt edges Provenance: Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617) and his first wife Marie de Barbançon-Cany (died in 1601) -- Jean-Jacques Charron, Marquis de Mesnard (1643-1718) -- Armand-Gaston, Cardinal of Rohan (1674-1749), then Charles de Rohan, Prince of Soubise (1715-1787); cote Soubise in brown ink on the top and bottom plates) -- probably John Hunter, his sale, London, 1805 according to an ink note -- Hippolyte Destailleur (Catalogue des livres et estampes relatifs aux Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1895, no. 845: "very fine copy") -- Count de Béhague (ex-libris) -- Count René de Galard de Béarn de Brassac (ex-libris armorié), acquired in his sale Small bites on the upper plate, slightly rubbed upper headdress Antonio Agostín (1516-1586) was Archbishop of Tarragona.
