MANUSCRIBE. - Catalogue of Alphose Poutingon's Library. S.l.n.d. first half of the 19th century]. Manuscript in-4 (272 x 177m), about 80 leaves (two-thirds of them white), half vellum, covers covered with pink glue paper, laces, manuscript title piece on the first cover (contemporary binding). Interesting manuscript catalogue from the library of a poet from Félibrige: Alphonse Poutingon, poet from Montpellier, died in 1869, author among others of a piece entitled La Giunda raubada. It lists some 285 works, mainly literature: Rabelais, Montaigne, Voltaire (the works in Kehl's 70-volume edition), an Encyclopedia in 39 volumes, classical authors such as Racine, Molière and La Fontaine, and others that marked the Romantic period such as Chateaubriand, Fenimore Cooper and Walter Scott. The manuscript, written in pencil and completed in pencil, is in the form of an alphabetical register. The annotated leaves, barely thirty or so, each contain a few lines describing only the author's name, title, number of volumes and a quotation. A charming volume whose title is written on a piece of paper cut out in the shape of a heart (small lack of paper).
