- Faithful diary of what happened in Jamaica to the glory of the King, containing the advantages won by His Majesty's Wing, commanded by Sr. Rolon over the English, with a Relation of the earthquakes, & other remarkable things. S.l.n.d. [at the end]: Bordeaux, Pierre Abegou, 1695. Platelet in-4 (227 x 170 mm) of 8 pages, bradel cardboard, brown marbled paper, title label on spine (modern binding). Extremely rare account of the punitive expedition led in 1694 against Jamaica by Jean-Baptiste Ducasse, governor of Saint-Domingue. The English were defeated and the island ravaged: 3,000 slaves were seized and many indigo, & other precious goods, a quantity of sugar boilers, & other utensils specific to this manufacture were brought back (cf. ?Charlevoix, Histoire de l'Isle espagnole ou de S. Domingue, 1731, t. II, p. 261). We have only listed one copy of this dissertation in the public collections, located in the Bordeaux library. Two leaves trimmed a little short, the page numbers cut or deleted.
