PERGOLESI (Michelangelo).
Designs for Various Ornaments. London, 1777-1797. In-folio, fawn calf, double gilt fillet, spine grotesquely decorated, inside lace, gilt edges (19th century English binding). Beautiful collection of 59 plates (of 60, plate 10 is missing) representing ornaments, vases, fireplaces, etc., engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi after Giovanni Battista Cipriani. It begins with a dedication sheet to the Duke of Northumberland. Michelangelo Pergolesi, Italian ornamentalist, active between 1760 and 1801, worked mainly in England. Ex-libris G. Lisch Architect.
