Dechaud, Gabriel Chappuys, pp. 197-200. Original edition of the French translation of one of the founding texts of modern psychiatry, translated by Gabriel Chappuys. Initially published in Spanish in 1575, the work assured its author, the Spanish philosopher and humanist Juan de Huarte († 1592), a great reputation throughout Europe. According to Garrison-Morton, this book exposes for the first time the relationship between physiology and psychology. Translated into several languages, it was banned as soon as it was published by the Inquisition. From the Georges Louis collection (ex-libris label). The hinges, formerly restored, are cracked again.
