Original edition of this judicial manual for civil proceedings, a complement to the author's other great treatise, the Praxis rerum criminalium (1554). 16 woodcut plates, most of them full-page, illustrating scenes from judicial life. Flemish jurisconsult, Josse de Damhoudère (1507-1581) was the financial adviser to Charles V and Philip II for more than 30 years. Handwritten ex-libris on the title, some of which are scratched, and handwritten ex-libris by a doctor of law dated 1702 at the bottom of an introductory page. Some old underlining. Light-coloured and freckled spots on a few leaves. Small wormholes in the bottom of several leaves. Small rubbing at the binding (hinges and corners).
