First state of this wall map engraved by Chambon and published "A Paris, chez Longchamps et Janvier, rue Saint-Jacques, à l'enseigne de la Place des Victoires, 1754". World map in two hemispheres supported by two Atlanteans, decorated at the bottom right and left with two celestial hemispheres (boreal and southern) and at the bottom in the middle of an armillary sphere, moreover it is surrounded by a decorative border consisting of vignettes depicting scenes from Genesis."This world map is drawn up according to the latest information from Messrs. of the Academies of Paris; St. Petersburg & Upsal. ...It is thought to please the Public to have added what Mr. Delisle has just given again to the North of the South Sea, between Asia and America, in his 1752 map."
