Description of the art of cannon making. Paris, De l'Imprimerie du Comité de salut public, Year II of the French Republic [1794]. In-4, fawn half calf, spine decorated (Binding ca. 1810). Original edition, decorated with 4 tables giving the dimensions of the iron cannons and 60 folding plates. The work was printed by order of the Comité de salut public which mobilized the greatest scholars to give courses at the École militaire, also known as the École de Mars, created in 1794. Monge was one of them and gave courses on cannon making. Small worm work on the back, with a slit in the first chamber. A trace of glue on the inside edge of the title page. Slight angular moulding
