LACROIX (Silvestre-François).

In-8, paperback, untrimmed, silent parma cover, modern box. Original edition, decorated with 7 folding plates. First work by the author and first treatise on descriptive geometry (cf. Domingues, Lacroix and the Calculus, p. 15). Lacroix (1765-1843), member of the Institute and professor at the Collège de France, succeeded Lagrange as chair of the École polytechnique. He is best known for his treatise on differential and integral calculus (1797-1800). Copy as published, bound under the silent cover of the time.
