In-8, brown calf, cold fillet, spine with nerves underlined with cold fillets extending over the plates (Modern binding). Durling, n°4593. Rare first edition of this treatise on "semi-paracelsian" surgery relating to the curing of arquebusades. It contains the opinions on the subject of Jacques Veyras († 1594) and his colleague Tannequin Guillaumet (c. 1548-1628), both Protestant physicians established in Nîmes (see Didier Kahn, Alchimie et Paracelsisme en France à la fin de la Renaissance, p. 270). Incomplete of 3 preliminary leaves (dedication). Minimal restorations at the corner or in the margin of the first 4 leaves, including the title. Some freckles.
