The Decades in French with annotations and figures for the intelligence of Roman antiquity. Plus a particular description of the places and a general Chronology of the main potentas of the earth. Paris, Veuve L'Angelier, 1617-1616. 2 volumes in folio, fawn calf, double gilt fillet, spine decorated with a repeated iron (Binding of the period). Translation by Blaise de Vigenère, augmented with fragments translated by Malherbe. Title-frontispiece engraved on copper by Thomas de Leu in volume I, portrait of King Henry IV in coronation costume and portrait of Vigenère, engraved by the same, profile portrait of Tite-Live engraved on wood, and numerous figures in the text. Copy of which part of volume I has been annotated by a hand of the time. Repeated 17th century manuscript ex-libris by Nicolas Duret (some scratched) and old manuscript ex-libris: Sancti Jacobi de Pirmilio. Edge of title-frontispiece lined, halo and ring at the head of several notebooks in volume II, paper defect with a slight stain at the corner of the seventh page of volume II. Headings of both volumes and hinges of volume I restored, upper hinge of volume II split, guards renewed.
