Lyon, [Jean Frellon pour] Antoine Vincent, 1553. 2 parts in one volume in folio, fawn calf, double framed with three cold fillets, gilt fleuron on the corners, gilt fleuron in the center, spine gilt (contemporary binding). Baudrier, t. V, p. 228. Important critical edition of the Decades of Titus Livius prepared by Glareanus, accompanied by commentaries by various scholars and abundant notes by Beatus Rhenanus and Sigismundus Gelenius. Included is an epistle of the great Erasmus, which was first printed in the Basel edition of 1531. Regulated copy with large illuminated coats of arms of the time on the title: these coats of arms, painted on the typographical mark, are those of a baron and have not been identified. Stains on the title and p. 432, missing leaf N6 corresponding to pp. 571-572. Rubbing at the binding, cracks at the hinges; lining, endpapers and endpapers renewed.
