Venice, s.n., 1541 [to the colophons]: Venice, heirs of Lucantonio Giunta, 1540 - January 1541. 3 parts in one volume in folio, fawn basane, gilt roulette, spine decorated, roulette on the cups, gilt edges (Italian binding of the 18th century). Important edition established by Beatus Rhenanus and Sigismund Gelenius, with a chronology of Roman history from the capture of Troy to 1287 by Glareanus. Beautifully printed in Roman characters, a set of large initials with sieve background marks the beginning of each decade. Typographical mark of the Giunta's on the title and at the end. Very nice copy, nicely bound. Old handwritten ex-libris scratched on the title, with thinning of the paper. Handwritten ex-libris on a guard: Philippi Trentae Praetoris Asculanorum 1755. Pen and ink stains on leaves 187 v° and 188. Wormholes on the back, hook on the upper cap, small modern handwritten label on the tail.
