Geneva], Henri II Estienne, 1568. 2 parts in one volume in-4, fawn calf, gilt fillet, oval medallion with interlacing decoration on a central gilt azure ground, spine decorated (contemporary binding). Renouard, Estienne, p. 131. - Schreiber, n°171. Important edition, containing the scolies compiled in the 14th century by the Byzantine philologist Demetrius Triclinius, corrected by Henri Estienne, the comments of Joachim Camerarius and the Latin translation by the same of the Ajax and Electra tragedies. Elegant Greek printing by Henri Estienne, the title adorned with the typographical mark known as the olive tree. Two handwritten ex-libris on the title, one ancient (Paschignard?), the other by a man named Leclerc Dupuy and dated 1807. Dirty title, light wetness at the corner of several notebooks, some freckles. Small hole with loss of words on pages *3 and b3. Binding very restored (covers remounted, spine redone).
