The Works. Lyon, Pour Thomas Soubron, 1592. 5 volumes in-12, brown calf, gilt fillet, gilt fleuron in the centre, smooth spine decorated with a star pattern in the boxes, smooth, speckled edges for volume I (modern binding in the old taste). Eighth collective edition, extremely rare complete, containing a few more pieces than the 1587 edition on which it was made (Tchemerzine, V, p 484). Wet stamp almost erased at the foot of the title of Volume V. An introductory sheet (*2) is missing from Volume I. Volume I: title and leaves O6-7 (pp. 323-326) in facsimile, 4 introductory leaves mended with loss of words on six lines on one of them. Volume II: title scorched, scratched printed mention at the end of p. 495, angular wetness on the first 15 and last 25 leaves. Volume III: soiled title with small angular and marginal restorations, angular tearing of leaf O5 removing the paginations, red spot on the last 4 leaves, wormhole removing letters pp. 41-50. Volume IV: scorched title, wet spots on the whole volume and more important for the part of the Hymns, wormhole removing numbers on the last table leaf. Volume V: scorched title, small spots and wetness on a few leaves.
