The Works. Paris, Gabriel Buon, 1584. In-folio, marbled basane, decorated spine, red title coin, red edges (Binding from the 18th century). Tchemerzine, vol. V, p. 482. - Ronsard : la trompette et la lyre, cat. BnF, n°269. - Ducimetière, n°20. Sixth collective edition, the last published during the lifetime of the author who died the following year. It is decorated with four beautiful woodcut portraits of Marc-Antoine Muret, Ronsard, Charles IX and Henri III. This monumental edition, the only one printed in this majestic format during the author's lifetime, is the poetic testament of the prince of French poets. It contains 32 unpublished pieces, among which is an Elegy on the book of the hunt of the late King Charles IX (p. 466). Regulated copy, in 18th century binding. It comes from the Robert and Irène Delmas library (ex-libris; I, 1985, n°52). More or less important moulding on the edge or corner of some notebooks, upper corner of the restored title with retouching with a single letter pen. Rubbing on the binding, snagging on the upper cover, restoration at the tail and bottom of the second cover.
