JODELLE (Étienne).
Poetic works and my mixes. Paris, Nicolas Chesneau and Mamert Patisson, 1583. In-16, hard vellum, title in ink on the spine (Binding at the time). Renouard, Estienne, p. 184, no. 5. - Thiébaud, col. 520. Second edition of the works of Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), poet of the illustrious Pléiade brigade. A vellum copy of the time, from Marcel Jeanson's hunting library, with his ex-libris (I, 1987, no. 300). The volume found its place there for the famous Ode de la chasse which appears here on leaves 272 to 285. It is complete with the last 10 leaves numbered 289 to 298 (the last 294 by mistake) which are sometimes missing. Old manuscript ex-libris cut out of the title (the gaps thus caused were filled in, with 4 letters of the title redone with a pen) and scratched at the head of the second leaf. Moulding on a few leaves.
