BOULMIER (Joseph)
Estienne Dolet, his life, his works, his martyrdom. Paris, Auguste Aubry, 1857. In-8, XV and 301 pp., 1 f.n.ch. (finished to be printed with Dolet's typographical mark on the reverse): red morocco, cold-framed fillets joining the corners, spine ribbed, double fillet drawing boxes, gilt title, inside lace, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Original edition, printed in 500 copies. It is decorated with a medallion portrait of Dolet, woodcut by young Lacoste and printed on wove paper. One of the 4 copies on colored paper, this one on daffodil paper, including an additional china state of the portrait. Like the André Jammes copy - also on yellow paper - this one has two other proofs of the four introductory sheets: on blue paper and on white wove paper. From the J.
