Campaigns of the French under the Consulate & Empire. Paris, Bookshop rue Visconti, s.d. [circa 1850]. In-folio, burgundy percaline, framed with cold fat fillets, title and large golden imperial coat of arms on the first course, smooth decorated back, golden slices (Ch. Magnier). Album comprising a title printed in red and black, a table leaf, a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte accompanied by a facsimile of his signature, placed in the frontispiece, 5 plates containing 100 portraits of marshals, generals and other illustrious figures of the time, engraved by Bovinet after Vaultier, and 52 plates representing great battles engraved by Duplessi-Bertaux, Malherbe, Couché fils, Pigeot, Dequevauvillers, etc., mainly according to Carle Vernet and Swebach. Complete copy, in the publisher's binding, which is in poor condition, with the spine peeled off the body of the book. The legend of the board depicting the battle of Montebello and Casteggio has been partly cut by the bookbinder's knife, and tears without missing on the upper right edge
