Descriptive itinerary of France, or complete, historical and picturesque geography of this kingdom, in order of routes. Northwest Region. Paris, Jules Renouard, 1830. In-8, long-grained green morocco, frame ornamented with fillets and a large rocaille iron at the corners, coat of arms in the centre, smooth back ornamented lengthwise, inner set of fillets, lining and endpapers of ivory moire decorated with a gilt roulette, gilt edges (Meslant). Fordham, Les Routes de France, p. 83. Original edition, decorated with a folding map with red coloured lines. This volume devoted to the North-West region is part of the Description routière et géographique de l'Empire français, a work published in 20 volumes from 1813 to 1835 and whose publication was interrupted by the death of the author. It contains the description of the routes from Paris to Rouen, Le Havre, Honfleur, Dieppe, etc.. Copy of the arms of the Duke of Berry, bound by Meslant, bookbinder of the princes and princesses of the royal family. It bears the ex-libris from the library of the Duchess of Berry, at the Château de Rosny, and was listed in the 1837 catalogue under n°1359. Some freckles, very pronounced on the first four sheets and the map. Minimal rubbing, back and top of first course very slightly discoloured
