Silver watch made for the Chinese market. Hinged case with smooth bottom, the inside transparent to show the movement. White enamel dial with double graduation on two 12-hour or 24-hour Roman numerals, central second hand, railroad timer with also the signs of the Chinese zodiac. Movement so-called "Chinese calibre" with richly chiselled gilded brass plate with foliated motifs. Probably from the Fleurier region of Switzerland, attributed to Edouard Juvet. Mid 19th century. Diam. 55 mm Gross weight: 86.6 g This type of watch is rare in production for the Chinese market. Two similar models in pairs can be seen in the exhibition held at the Patek Philippe Museum in 2010, entitled The Mirror of Seduction, The Prestigious Pairs for the Chinese Market.
