Diam. 55 mm James Hatton is an English watchmaker who trained as an apprentice with the famous George Margetts, who was responsible for major achievements in the history of watchmaking. He became a member of the famous Clockmakeers Company in 1810. He worked with Margetts from 1805 to 1811. From 1810 to 1824 he had his workshops at 4 St. Michael's Alley, Cornhill, London. This example of a chronometer movement is undoubtedly among his first achievements during this period.
