Hinged case, the exterior with chiselled and relief motifs, the back representing an allegorical scene in a circle of volutes repeating the motifs of the bezel, the smooth interior with an opening for the key. Silvered dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, railroad minute track with dots between the hours, aperture for the date. Chiselled and pierced rooster movement with verge escapement, balance-spring, rocket and chain, adjusting disc, signed on the plate "?John Wilter, London". Diam. 51 mm Gross weight: 113.52 g John Wilter, London (ca. 1775) mentioned in the G.H. Dictionary: Baillie Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World produced watches for the Dutch market, probably an assumed name for export.
