Equinoxial dial in steel and octagonal-shaped glass, finely engraved with stylised motifs. The plate features a compass, a hinged latitude arm and a time ring in the centre. The compass is decorated with a four-way rose and an arrow with a magnetic pole in the centre. The hour ring is engraved with Roman numerals and the arc of latitudes with Arabic numerals. Inscriptions on the back in a circle surrounded by a stylised frieze. Probably late 18th century work. In a green case. Diam. 6 cm The equinoxial dial is a variant related to the measurement of time since antiquity.
