In-8 square, red morocco, Jansenist, inner frame of gilt fillets and lemon and gold scrolls, beige faulty lining and endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and back, case (Marot-Rodde). Original edition. One of the 25 copies on holland. A unique copy, with all margins and untrimmed, enriched with 41 original watercolours by Edmond Malassis, 14 of which are full-page, excluding text. Copy of Octave Mirbeau (1848-1917), with a shipment from the author accompanied by an original pen drawing dated 1898. From the P. Brunet library (ex-libris).
