The Songs of Bilitis. Only true and complete text. Printed in Mitylène for the Friends of Bilitis in 1929. Small in-4, dark green morocco, duck green scroll decorated with a Greek and set with two double gilt fillets, large polylobed medallion in the centre drawn by a fillet and a scroll loaded with small gilt dots, in the middle an antique motif with a part in palladium evoking a mirror, back decorated in the same way, Fawn morocco lining decorated with a frame designed by a burgundy listel and golden fillets, decorated with female and male angles and flowers, central composition in the form of a mosaic medallion in various shades, brocaded silk endpapers, golden edges, untrimmed, cover and back, case (Ch. Septier). 64 illustrations, mostly free, by George Barbier, including a frontispiece and 6 full-page plates, 2 compositions on the cover, and large vignettes and culs-de-lampe, all woodcut in colour or sepia. Unique edition of 25 copies on Arches wove paper, this one enriched with the very rare brown on japanese wood.
