In-8, fawn morocco, double framed with two brown and burgundy scrolls enclosing a border decorated with cold fillets reminiscent of the frame of a stained glass window, in the center plate with the cathedral cold struck, back with four ribs, gilt title, mosaic and cold struck motif, burgundy morocco lining decorated with a set of fillets, mauve moire guards, gilt edges, untrimmed, cover, case (René Aussourd). 31 beautiful etchings by Charles Jouas, including a title-frontispiece, and a woodcut portrait of the author by Louis Malteste on the cover. Circulation at 350 copies. Single copy, on vellum ragpaper, comprising: - the separate proof with remarks of 9 of the etchings. - 2 original photographs representing Huysmans. - 3 engraved portraits of the author: one with etching by Raffaelli, another by Decisy after Auguste Leroux, and the separate print of the engraved portrait by Malteste. A double shipment signed by the author and the illustrator to Georges Landry was added to this copy, on a page bound at the head, and signed by the author and the illustrator to Georges Landry. Beautifully decorated binding in the cathedral, in perfect harmony with the text of Huysmans.
