CURIOSA. - NERCIAT (Andréa de).
Temperament Discrepancies, Dramatic Sketch. London, 1785. In-12, red morocco, double gilt fillet, decorated spine, inside lace, gilt edges (Bound in late 19th century). Extremely rare first edition, decorated with 4 beautiful free figures. Published clandestinely, without the author's consent, this edition is described by Pia, col. 334, as a counterfeit, or rather a pre-fake, which cannot be found. She delivers to the public the first version of the first part of Le Diable au corps (1803), whose text at the time was still being written by Nerciat. This very free narrative takes the form of a crisp and obscene dialogue between several characters: a superb marquise, the Countess de Motte-en-feu, a true hot blonde and pungent ugly woman who bears an unequivocal certificate of the most numerous & hottest adventures, a maid, a prelate, etc..
